I know everyone is getting all pissy about the characters and about EVERYTHING else having to do with this movie too. (and when I say "everyone" I mean Avatards!)
Personally I'm just glad they're making this into a movie AT ALL. And when it turns out to be EPIC beyond all reason, I'm just going to say, "Told you so!"

Yes the characters are white (sans Dev) and all the characters aren't Asian blah blah blah...I'm sick and tired of everyone's complaining. Watch movie! Complain later!

Besides didn't everyone complain about how Rob would make the worst Edward EVER?! And look now. He's made of awesome and is totally Edward :)

Am I a bit disappointed that the characters aren't Asian and are thus not corresponding to the cartoon? Yes
Does the fact that Jackson Rathbone and Dev Patel play some of the main characters cancel that out? HELL YES! *I'm a big fan of them*

I know. I'm a geek but whatevs. I don't care what anyone says. I'm so excited for this movie :D!

This movie thus far looks completely EPIC!
Those fire nation ships looked incredible and the special effects for the air bending look great
I can't wait to see the other characters (especially Jackson)

You bet I will continue to update with news of this movie along with Eclipse until summer 2010

and apparently he knows tae kwon do, NICE!
and they wanted Jesse Mccartney to play Zuko WHY?!?!
I don't see the scar in the picture but I hope they play that off well. And I hope he can be kinda evil because I saw Slumdog obviously and he was great in it but he was the opposite of evil.

He obviously plays Jasper in the Twilight Saga
BUT
he also plays Saka in Avatar
Jackson seems like a nice guy but Saka the character is more of a sarcastic comic relief. Is Jackson a funny guy? I don't know. I guess we'll find out....
